The Henley and Partners Visa Restriction Index is a global ranking of countries according to the travel freedom that their citizens enjoy.
The index is produced in cooperation with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the world’s largerst database of travel information.
Countries are ranked according to the total number of other countries which they can access visa-free access.
Germany and the United Kingdom ranked first in this year’s index, scoring the highest score with visa-free access to 173 countries.
Pakistan, Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan ranked the lowest in the index, with Afghanistan taking the last place at 109th, allowing access to only 25 countries without a visa.
The United Arab Emirates, one of only 22 to have risen in the rankings from 2014, has moved up from 55th to 40th with an addition of visa-free access to 37 more countries, with a total count of 114 countries without visa requirements.
There are a total of 219 destination countries/territories with a maximum score attainable at 218 in this year’s list. Points cannot be assigned to a national travelling to their own country.(来源:https://www.henleyglobal.com)
